BUKIT PUTERI

EAST COAST OF MALAYSIA

Bukit Puteri, a prominent landmark in Terengganu, is seen along Jalan Kota. This hill overlooks Kuala Terengganu and walking up the flight of stairs to get to the top of this two hundred meters hill is very rewarding since the view can be quite amazing especially during sunset. This place of interest was built in 1830 and was initially used as a fortress until 1876. Some of the attractions tourists will be able to see here are several cannons, a historic fort, a flagpole and a huge bell which was used to inform the villagers the breaking of the Ramadan fast. This place is usually full of school children during the school holidays.
