A highly recommended place
to learn more about traditional handicrafts is at the
Malaysian Handicraft Centre at Chendering in Terengganu.
This tourist attraction in Malaysia allows tourists a
large selection of handicraft and also an insight into
handicraft making methods. Some of the main attractions
here are bags made from pandanus leaves, batik, hats,
mats, songket which is fabric with gold threads, vases
and wallets. Some of the items found here make really
good house decorations.
However, the highlight of
the trip here will definitely to be able to admire first
hand the skills of local artisans in batik printing and
songket weaving. Not taking home the latest batik design
with you will be really a sin.
