The most popular of the west coast resort areas are Hundred Islands and the nearby towns of Lucap and Alaminos. Actually there are more than 100 islands and if swimming, lazing around  and sunbathing are your thing, then this is a perfect place for you.

Unfortunately, the snorkeling and diving are not as good as they were once because of the long-term use of dynamite for fishing. Lucap, just 3 kilometers from Alaminos, is the main accommodation centre for the islands and from here you can hire boats to reach them. There are no beaches on the coast and only a few on the islands. However, there are lots of hidden coves, caves and coral reefs. Quezon, the largest island, is being developed as a tourist resort. Other popular islands for snorkeling include Cathedral, Parde and Panaca with its exotic coral reefs.
