San Miguel Bay, with
its spectacular beaches and islands, is an interesting
detour on the route south. Daet is a good
overnight stop en route to the bay. Mercedes, a
small coastal village about 10 kilometers northeast of Daet, has a lively fish market, and from here
you can reach Apuao Grande Island, with its
white sand beach, in San Miguel Bay and it is
good place to go swimming.
