There are a number
of beautiful small islands east of Surigao which is located on the northeastern tip of
Mindanao. They can best be reached from the
seaside village of General
Luna on the island of Siargao, where tourists
usually head for. It is the number one
destination for surfers to surf in the Philippines with
its impressive reef-break that produces similar
Hawaiian style waves and the best spot for
surfing is at Tuazon point near the Cloud Nine
resort. One event every surfing enthusiast look
forward to here is the annual Siargao
International Surfing Cup held in the month of
October.
