General Santos is
the southern most city in the Philippines and is
situated at the tip of Sarangani Bay on the
southern coast of Mindanao and it is a popular
spot for scuba divers to gather here. There is
no other better place for diving around this
area and this superb dive site is known
throughout the region.
SARANGANI BAY
This is the main
dive area as it is a reasonably sheltered bay which does not get too many water condition
problems except for currents on some of the more
exposed dive sites. The water temperature is
around 840F all year round so
thick wet suits are not required which is
something favored by divers.
Sarangani Bay has
all types and levels of diving with the
exception of wrecks. The best time to dive is
morning and until around 2 pm after this,
windsurfers and sailors would have a good time
unfortunately, there are not many around to take
advantaged yet.
