The Istana (the
palace) in Singapore is the official residence
of the President of Singapore. This popular
place of interest is located on a huge open
compound along Orchard Road in Singapore. The
sprawling grounds and landscaped gardens are one
of the most beautiful parks in Singapore. The
Istana is an incredible neo-Palladian style
mansion with various design influences, from the
elaborate Victorian Renaissance to the stunning
Roman Classical, with amazing Gothic, Chinese
and Malay architecture.
Not
only is the Istana the home of the President of
Singapore, it is also his office where he
receives and entertains state guests and
visitors. The site where this grand building
stands was formerly the home of the British
Governor during the British colonial days.
Istana has six big function rooms which are used
for ceremonial and entertainment purposes, and
this attraction in Singapore is open for five
times only in a year to the public on Photo:
