On Kusu Island, also
known as Pulau Tembakul, you
can find attractions which include a Malay mosque and a Chinese temple
with an interesting history. According to local
legend, a giant sea turtle once saved two shipwrecked
sailors. As an act of gratitude, the two men
built a Chinese temple, a Malay mosque and a
huge turtle sculpture on the island.
During the
ninth lunar month, devotees make annual
pilgrimages to the Tua Pekong Temple and visit
the shrine called Kramat
