Trek through
Pulau Ubin,
an island still regarded as Singapore's last
'wild frontier'. Its name is derived from the
word 'Zubin' which means granite. The granite
quarries, prawn farms, villages and lush
vegetation add to the rustic setting of this
island, a stark contrast to the modernity of the
city, whereby its serene surroundings is an
ideal place to rest and relax. Ubin Island is
one of the famous islands found in Singapore. You can opt to rent bicycles to explore
this least developed area of Singapore, go bird watching, have a seafood
meal at the famous village seafood restaurant, sip a cup of
Photo: Pulau Ubin (Ubin Island) coffee at the local coffee shops
or go picnicking at its two main beaches at Noordin Beach and Mamam Beach.
