Singapore Zoo in SingaporeSingapore Zoological Gardens, located at 80 Mandai Lake Road beside the Upper Selator Reservoir, is acclaimed as one of the most beautiful zoos in the world and this scenic 'open' zoo features many interesting animal exhibits with over 3,700 animals found here. At the Singapore Zoo, visitors can come face to face with Polar Bears or Pigmy Hippos in their special glass-fronted enclosures, or the Hamadyras Baboons at the Great Rift Valley. One of the newer exhibits is the Elephants of Asia. Enjoy breakfast or afternoon tea with some of the animals and do not miss the photography sessions with your favorite animals in one of the best zoo in this region. And kids will go wild at the pool and playground at Children's World. Another attraction at the Singapore Zoo is the Wildlife Healthcare and Research Centre which has purpose-built facilities such as a fully-equipped operating theatre and animal wards with motorised walls to better control potentially dangerous animals. The interesting feature here is the viewing gallery with a glass panel which allows visitors to witness firsthand surgical procedures in the operating theatre. The 'Australian Outback' exhibit is also another crowds' favorite as it offers you the chance to come face-to-face with the taipan, the deadliest snake in the world. To further enrich visitors' experience, this attraction which has animals such as the cassowary, emu, wallaby, blue-tongue skink, frilled-neck lizard and carpet python, has been designed such that visitors have the opportunity for up-close observation. Before you leave the zoo, do not miss the popular animal shows at the zoo's amphitheatre. Visitors are however advised to check the show times at the entrance.
