For your body to withstand the work that needs to be carried out, you need to look after your body well. Whether you go for a massage or a rub, or a herbal steam, some self-care will do your body a lot of good for it to be in top condition.

 

Massaging using essential oils helps overcome body acheThere are several spa experience that you may undergo to enable you to function at your peak  and achieve overall wellbeing. Using of essential oils may aid in the stimulation process of the limbic system and also help to improve energy and alertness, increase blood supply to tissues and likely to overcome any soreness in the muscles. To begin an aromatic steam healing, filled a small bowl with a small amount of lemongrass and peppermint essential oils. Turn on the hot water shower and put the small bowl on a shelf next to the shower, away from the water. The reason of doing this is to let the steam trigger the essential oils so that the aroma will be released in the shower. The fragrance you breath in will stimulate your brain's emotional control centre. Your autonomic nervous system will respond to this change which then leads to physiological changes that will overcome muscular pain. You may then dry yourself off. For further care, you are advised to rub a deep-heating muscle balm into old injuries or knots, or on areas where your muscles are tight. A readily available lotion is the Tiger Balm but you can also make your own muscle-soothing oil by mixing massage oil with white camphor oil since the latter is used to warm areas of stiffness. Beside the use of muscle balm, the correct massage techniques applied is equally important. The cross-fibre friction massage method is known to release muscular tension. This method involves the rubbing of your thumb, fingers or knuckles across the grain of your tight muscle. Stop massaging when you feel your muscles start to relax. Also able to cure painful joint spots is the ginger-almond rub. After finishing rubbing with the mixture of these essential oils, use a dry bath towel to cover the infected area to enable the soothing process to take place. Rinse the oil away after thirty minutes.

 

Another simple method to release muscle strain is to use rubber reflex ball. Not only it is easily available in most body, bath and health shops, you can also take it to anywhere you wish, even when you are on vacation. Known to aid in curing knots and sore areas, it is simple to use. All you need to do is lean against a wall and put the ball between your back and the wall. Roll the reflex ball into the sore area by pressing your weight against it and slowly glide up and down against the ball but never apply pressure directly to the spine. You can also put the reflex ball on the floor and place your foot on top of it. Put pressure on the ball and roll your foot up and down over the ball. Once you have done with one foot, repeat the process with the other foot. All of this is done while you are sitting down. This approach not only relaxes your feet but it also stimulates reflexology points of your other body parts. A simple but often neglected method is regular exercise since this traditional healing therapy will always relieve muscle tension.
