It is a fact that millions of dollars have been spent to keep your face look healthy and young through Botox injections, chemical peels and face-lifts. Instead of spending so much money, another way is by using spa therapies to get that youthful look by maintaining a natural toned skin through acupressure, aromatic essential oils and vitamins. For example, the thinnest cell layers on your face is your lips and to protect them from being damaged easily, use a relaxing overnight remedy for lip therapy which involves melting two teaspoons of grated beeswax with a small portion of olive oil. Mix them with a drop of lavender essential oil. Exfoliate your lips with a damp cloth before applying the mixture on your lips. When you wake up the next morning, your lips will look fresh and healthy.

To prevent your face from looking boring and uninteresting, make sure that your face is cleansed as often as possible because cleansing is a very essential part of facial skin care. Wet your face first before applying a thin layer of cleanser on your face. Slowly massage the lotion into your skin using circular motions. Leave it on for about five minutes and then rinse your face. A recommended cleanser to wash away dust, make-up and pollutants is a mild vitamin E cream cleanser. Another method carried out to make your face look young is through acupressure facial toning. To begin this natural face-lift method, make sure that your middle fingers are braced behind your index fingers and then press firmly and massage the following areas :-

  • Directly below the eyebrows

  • Above the arches of both eyebrows

  • Fronts of both temples

  • Both cheekbones under the far edges of the eyes

  • Either side of the nose at the inner bases of the cheekbones

  • Between the nose and upper lip

  • Between the lower lip and the bottom of the chin

Warm Stone Therapy on the FaceA much more favored relaxing method is the warm stone treatment. First you must warm three smooth flat stones in a bowl of hot water. The lie down on your back on a flat surface. Place one stone below your hair line in the middle of your forehead and another stone between your eyebrows. Then, the final stone is placed between your bottom lip and the end of your chin. The benefit of this warm stone therapy is that the stones will warm the acupressure points of your face.                                                  Photo: Facial Treatment

This subsequently leads to the releasing of muscles and the stimulation of the nerves. Remove the stones once they become cold. This spa treatment using warm stone is not for those who are pregnant or for those with heart disease and high blood pressure.

Another way for healthy and younger looking skin is to apply skin balm. A good mixture would be adding neroli essential oil to a neutral base oil since neroli is known to soothe and revitalize the skin. Pour a small potion of the mixture on your palm and to activate the neroli oil, rub your hands together and then slowly massage the oils into your skin. A good substitute for neroli oil would be grapeseed oil because of its antioxidants.
