You may not know it, but at the end of the day, the steps you would have walk could be in the thousands. Depending on the nature of your daily activity or working behavior, there are times when you feel totally exhausted after a long walk and there is nothing you would wish more than just to sit down to rest your your tired feet. You need to take time frequently to get off your feet and allow your feet to rest because as you walk, the pressure that is being put on your feet is more than your body weight. There are a few logical ways for the overall care of our feet. First, when buying shoes, never buy one that is smaller than the size of your feet and if you wear high heels, try not to wear it for too long since this may give your feet trouble. After a long day's walk, try to stretch your feet by walking barefooted at home and soak your feet in warm water with Epsom salts to reduce any swollen in the ankles or feet. Cider vinegar and lemon juice can be rubbed on the soles of aching feet to relive the pain.

Pampering your feet with spa treatmentOne of the main focus of spa treatments would be on feet care. To get started on pampering your feet, begin with a cucumber-mint soak. Find a basin large enough for your feet to dip in and then fill it with cold water. Add in a few drops of tea tree essential oil, a sliced cucumber and some fresh mint leaves into the water and then mix them evenly before putting your feet into the basin. The reason you use tea tree oil is because it has antibacterial properties while the mint provides your feet with a fresh scent.

Cucumber is essential due to the fact that it acts as a mild astringent. After quarter an hour, you can remove your feet and towel it until your feet is dry. After this refreshing soak, you can then massage your feet by using a foot roller. You can begin by placing your left feet on a wooden foot massage and then let your foot press against the roller and move it forward and backward over the roller. You can change foot after ten minutes of massaging. What actually happens here is that the four reflexology zones of your foot will be massaged and your feet is also being pampered at the same time.

A common spa treatment is to increase circulation and stimulate the nervous system is to use peppermint oil to massage your feet. Start by rubbing the peppermint oil into your foot. After that, wrap your hands around the arch of your foot and then press your hands together tightly and smoothly move them towards the direction of your toes. This is done to improve circulation and move toxins. For any area of discomfort, use your thumb to apply pressure on the sore areas by holding for a few seconds and then release. Once completed, work on your other foot. After your feet has been massaged, use a towel to wrap your feet, raise your feet to a comfortable position and relax for the next ten minutes. This allows total absorption of the lotion and maximum hydration. Your feet will feel like new again after this spa therapy. For those with dry soles, a foot scrub using a mixture of almond oil, crushed almonds, honey and oatmeal will help smoothen them. Before scrubbing your feet, soak them in warm water first. While exfoliating, apply modest pressure while employing circular motions and the skin will be moisturize by the almond and honey oils.
