No matter how you
view labyrinth, whether you see it as a sign for
life's journey or a road to salvation, walking a
labyrinth helps to balance the two halves of the
brain, the intuitive side and the rational side.
For those who still try to figure what a
labyrinth is, a simple way of explaining it will
be that it is a spiraling passageway that
doubles back on itself whereby it has long
existed in the cultures of the ancient Greeks to
the Native American Hopi.

Before starting on
the labyrinth therapy, draw yourself the famous
classic three-circuit labyrinth. You can start
by drawing, on a large sandy area such as on a
beach, a two meter wide cross and four dots.
Continue by drawing a series of curving
clockwise lines. Then carry out the following
steps:-
-
Join the top
of the cross to the top right dot with a
curved line
-
Draw a curving
line from he top left dot to the right arm
of the cross
-
Join the left
arm of the cross to the bottom right dot
-
To end the
diagram, draw a line from the bottom left
dot all the way around the top to the bottom
arm of the cross
Before entering
the labyrinth you have just created, take a deep
breath while you are preparing to enter at the
entrance of the labyrinth and always pick an
purpose for your walk, be it introspective or
spiritual, before entering. Try to clear your
mind and focus on breathing deeply before going
through this journey. When you are inside,
follow the path toward the centre of the
labyrinth. Try not to think of any other things
and just concentrate on being present in your
body and continue to breath deeply. There is no
fix movement when traveling the labyrinth. Once
you reach your destination, it would advisable
to continue with some meditation or praying, or
even just to sit in the centre of the labyrinth
to ponder your trouble thoughts and absorb the
experience of the journey itself. After you have
come to terms with what you seek, walk out of
the labyrinth with the answers you have acquired
into the present world.
