Neck wrap to ease neck painFor most of us, we spent almost more than one third of the day at the office and this monotonous activity that we have to endure everyday will definitely contribute to our neck, shoulder and back strain, hand and wrist problems, not to mention the problems we have to face each day which directly make us more stressed. First, to lessen strains and aches at the office, a proper workspace has to be created to take care of our wellbeing. The chair you sit on must be able to support your back properly, the desk you use must permit unrestricted movement of your legs and feet.                                           Photo: Neck Wrap

If you use the computer a lot, make sure the screen is at eye level and remember to use an anti-glare screen. Not only office settings is essential to help reduce injuries, there are spa treatments which can relieve our stress and also catered to protect our body and daily care can hinder injuries before they happen.

To comfort the neck, there are a few therapies which you can undergo to prevent neck pain. One of the exercise you can carry out is a simple neck stretch. To start this technique of neck care, sit on a chair and lengthen your spine with your shoulders relaxed and down. Make sure that your feet is flat on the floor and with your hands in your lap. While looking straight to the front, slowly tilt your head towards your left shoulder but do not overdo it until you strain yourself, try to maintain this position for at ten seconds and then continue this same process by tilting your head to the opposite direction. After this, drop your chin towards your chest for about the period.

To continue this exercise, with the backs of your hands touching, put your right elbow in the crook of your left arm. Then slowly make sure that your left hand is inside your right, so that your arms are intertwined and your palms are touching. With your shoulders down, keep your elbows away from the body and press down. While you are carrying this out, you can feel the stretch between your shoulder blades and keep to this position for about twenty seconds. Continue this action with your left arm on top.

An easier method to rest your neck and shoulders is to lie down comfortably on a sofa that support your head and use a heatable neck pillow or wrap to loosen your muscles around the neck and shoulders area. When the pillow or wrap is warm, put the pillow around your neck or drape the wrap behind your neck and over your shoulders. Keep to this position for about ten minutes. The most important thing to look for, before the soothing neck wrap, when buying the pillow is to find one filled with rice and herbs whereby the former put the needed pressure on the muscles while the aroma from the herbs can aid in calming the nerves.

The use of lavender essential oil can help in the relaxation of your muscles and it is known to overcome daily stress and pressure. Lie down flat on a mat on the floor and close your eyes with a lavender eye pillow. While doing so, you are sure to feel your whole weight sinking into the floor. Breath in and out deeply for about ten to fifteen minutes and after that, you will feel all the tension and pressure be lifted away.
