MAENAM, BOPHUT AND BANG RAK BEACHES - KO SAMUI

MAENAM BEACH, BOPHUT BEACH AND BANG RAK BEACH

SOUTH THAILAND

Maenam Beach, Bophut Beach and Bang Rak Beach are all located along the north coast of Ko Samui, and these spectacular beaches provide an ideal place for those who want to get away from it all. Hat Maenam beach is a typical beach with old Thai villages surrounding it to provide a very peaceful environment with the morning market selling almost everything you need. Hat Bophut beach is the least visited beach here but at the Fisherman's Village, you can eat your favorite Thai food or even the regular Western meal.

Hat Bang Rak beach is often called 'Big Buddha Beach' because of the huge Buddha image at the eastern end of the beach that looks particularly impressive at sunset and it is a perfect place for shutterbugs. Wat Phra Yai temple (Big Buddha Temple), in which the 12 meters high Buddha image is found, is located at the northeast part of the island, on a small rocky islet called Ko Fan, is connected to the main island by a causeway.
