The population here consists mainly of Kinh people with Kho Mu, Ma, Hoa, Nung, Tay and Chu Ru making up the rest. A variety of flowers such as rhododendron, cherry, mimosa, hydrangea, rose, daisy and dahlia can be found here and the serene surroundings is a good place for relaxation.

Once known as the 'Paris of the East', it has now become a favorite honeymoon spot among foreign visitors. Dalat, nicknamed the City of Eternal Spring, has many homes built from wood similar to the Swiss chalets found in the Alps. Many grand villas built by the French officials in the early part of the century can also be found here. Other attractions here include the Cremaillere railway which takes you to the Linh Phuoc Pagoda at the Trai Mat Village, Bao Dai's Summer Palace No. 3 which is a sprawling villa surrounded by landscaped gardens and the Lam Ty Ni Pagoda whereby beautiful paintings on paper are being hanged throughout a pathway within its garden.

Places of interest worth exploring at the southeast of central Dalat include the Hang Nga guesthouse and art gallery, the Valley of Love which is near the Xuan Huong Lake and scenic Lake of Sighs and Flower Gardens.

Dalat offers an harmonious combination of natural scenery and historical sites. Dalat is also well known for its beautiful lakes like Xuan Huong (Spring Lake), Da Thien Lake and Van Kiep Lake and astonishing waterfalls which include the Datanla Falls, Pongour Falls which is largest in size and the tallest falls known as Dambri Falls but the one preferred by the locals is the Cam Ly Falls. For those who prefer some adventure, you can always trek at the Lang Bian Mountain or follow a day tour to the Lat Village or the Lang Dinh An.
